Number Sense (NS)
The Number Sense domain in grades PK-5 refers to foundational math skills, including understanding properties of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals and the relationships between them. This includes representing numbers with visual models, understanding place value, counting, rounding, and comparing.

✅

✅

Number System (NSY)
The Number System domain in grades 6-8 extends foundations in Number Sense to apply these skills to operations. This includes understanding the properties of positive and negative numbers, rational and irrational numbers, and integers and applying these properties to perform operations.

✅

Computations and Algebraic Thinking (CA)
The Computations and Algebraic Thinking domain for grades PK-8 involves performing operations and representing algebraic relationships. This includes recognizing and creating patterns, understanding symbols (+, –, ×, ÷), learning and applying computation strategies (solving for an unknown), recalling basic facts, and working with expressions and equations.

✅

✅

✅

Measurement and Data Analysis (MDA)
The Measurement domain for grades PK-5 involves determining the size or amount of something. This includes length, weight, volume, area, perimeter, capacity (liquid volume), time, and money. Both the customary and metric systems are utilized. The Data Analysis domain for grades PK-5 includes sorting and classifying data into categories and using various types of graphs and tables to represent the data. It also involves interpreting and explaining patterns and drawing conclusions to solve problems about the data. Graphs include picture graphs, bar graphs, line/dot plots, tables, and more.

✅

✅

Statistics and Data Analysis (SDA)
The Statistics and Data Analysis domain for grades 6-8 involves answering statistical questions and drawing conclusions based on information about populations. This involves organizing data, measuring it quantitatively, and making inferences based on patterns and distribution. This also includes measures of center (mean, median, mode, range).

✅

Geometry (G)
The Geometry domain for grades PK-5 involves understanding properties and attributes of shapes (2-D and 3-D), lines, and angles. Students must sort, classify, name, describe, and create various shapes. This domain also includes graphing points on the coordinate plane.

✅

✅

Geometry and Measurement (GM)
The Geometry and Measurement domain for grades 6-8 combines concepts of shape with measurement. This includes understanding and applying formulas for measuring various shapes and angles, comparing attributes of shapes (2-D and 3-D), and using the coordinate plane to analyze relationships and solve problems.

✅

Personal Financial Literacy
The Personal Financial Literacy domain for grades PK-8 involves managing financial resources effectively for lifetime financial security. This includes concepts of saving and spending, income, budgets, borrowing and lending, credit and debt, and producers and consumers.

Only available through teacher resources and not assessed in ISIP Math at this time

Probability
The Probability domain requires students to analyze chance events, organize samples, make predictions, and determine solutions to problems.

Only available at certain grade levels, which varies based on state/region
